Apparently some people think that if the students had been carrying guns then they could have shot the Shooter and disaster would have been averted. As opposed to the more likely scenario of mass panic, confusion, people shooting each other indiscriminately and the police showing up and having no idea of the situation. Sometimes I despair... Fox doesn't exactly have a reputation for objective, balanced news coverage. Fortunately, there are other more balanced thoughts on what actually causes of this sort of event (<a href="http://scienceblogs.com/cognitivedaily/2007/04/how_can_something_like_this_ha.php" rel="nofollow">example</a>). I'd never heard of this guy before your post. The bigger knee-jerk reaction I saw was that of guns, how guns are bad, and how guns should be banned, etc, which is probably more justified than bashing games. Most outlets are still analysing the event itself, rather than the inevitable finger pointing, but I'm sure games will catch the blame a few times over the coming weeks.
